Eine Untersuchung des für die Kulturgeschichte der Neuzeit überraschend aufschlussreichen Verhältnisses von Literatur und Gebet muss bei der Konstitutionsphase der volkssprachlichen Orationskultur an der Schwelle der Neuzeit ansetzen. Es geht in diesem Schritt um vorpoetisches, alltagsweltlich pragmatisches Gebet und um die Fundierung seiner Attraktivität für institutionelle Austauschprozesse zwischen Literatur- und Religionssystem in protoästhetischen Strukturen.
The relationship between literature and prayer is surprisingly revealing for the cultural history of the modern period. A study of this relationship has to start with the constituent phase of the culture of prayer in the vernacular at the threshold of the modern age. The study focuses on pre-poetic, everyday-worldly prayer and on the basis of its attractiveness for institutional processes of exchange between literary and religious systems in proto-aesthetic structures.
